A career working with businesses
I am Josias Mansour Diamitani, a finance professional based in Ouagadougou. For over five years, I have worked in financial analysis, investment and SME support in West Africa. I am particularly interested in understanding how a business operates and how its decisions show up in its financial results.
My education in audit and management control at ENCG El Jadida, followed by an audit internship at EY in Morocco, taught me to examine accounts and question the reliability of information. I joined Néré Capital as a financial analyst in 2021 and became an investment officer in February 2024.
Understanding the story behind the figures
My work often starts with an investment opportunity: understanding the business model, conducting due diligence and building financial projections. I assess financing needs and prepare investment proposals. Supporting businesses also involves building budgets, updating forecasts and analysing variances against actual results. I look at margins, costs and cash flow. A change in revenue raises further questions: which products are selling, at what price, with what costs and payment terms?
These questions connect financial analysis to operations. A model is useful when its assumptions are understandable and it supports a discussion about the choices ahead. I work with teams to develop that understanding, taking available information and business constraints into account.
Building tools people use
I also enjoy organising what makes analysis possible: data sources, checks, dashboards and responsibilities. Designing a reporting tool means understanding who updates it, who reads it and which decision it should support.
This interest has led me to work on reporting systems, procedures and Odoo implementation. Excel remains an important part of my modelling work. Power BI and management systems offer further possibilities, provided the data is consistent and the intended use is clear.
Working with the team
Conversations with business leaders and operational managers matter a great deal to me. They bring context that a spreadsheet can miss. My role is to check, explain, discuss options and follow up on agreed actions.
I want to bring this experience to investment banking, investment or a corporate finance team. Assessing opportunities, preparing financing and managing performance are complementary parts of my background. I work in French and English and am open to international relocation.
Why I am opening Perspectives
This website is also a place to write and experiment. In Perspectives, I will share articles about finance and businesses, reflections on working tools, personal projects and web experiments.
I will discuss methods and questions without disclosing confidential information about the businesses I support. If you are hiring, work on similar topics or would simply like to exchange ideas, you are welcome to get in touch.
